Hausa Koko!

It was bright and sunny afternoon
I sat under the mango tree
In centre of the city
With my calabash of
Hausa koko and roasted groundnut from the hot sands of the savanna

I swore to myself
Any insect that would drop from the tree
And find its way in the calabash of koko
Oh ! My God ! , Will go down the memory lane
In my throat.
With my sachet of sweaty water
I was ready for anything
Down my salivary throat.

Passers-by could not walk past
Without giving me a funny stare
Kai! I was never bothered
By their inquisitive curious looks
I enjoyed my delicacy
Awkwark ha!
Hausa koko in a hot sunny afternoon
Well, that's me

After I had had my nutritious sumptuous meal
I stretched on a lazy chair to take a nap.
The nap was however
Short lived!
Ah! Hausa koko + groundnut + any unfortunate insect+ sweaty sachet of water= an afternoon of a long nap, but can sometimes be really short.
Hahahahahahahaha!
