THE BATTLEFIELD

On the battlefield, the battle line is drawn
Opposing forces seek victory here
They seek dominance over their opponent
They show their prowess and bravery
This is where the battle is won and lost

The stronger force wins
The weaker force loses
The winner rules
The loser becomes slave

The battlefield drinks the blood of brave men and cowards
Becomes the homes of rodents and wild birds
Is the most injured
But does not take part in the battle

Becomes, a field with streams of blood of men
A desolate land
A place of decision!

WHEN I SAW YOU

The first time I saw you
My heart melted within me
My limbs froze
The hairs on my skin stood erect
My eyeballs were still
My mind went blank
I lost my memory all of a sudden
And became dump
With my mouth wide open
The world around me became dead
Nothing in it was alive
Only one being was
And that was you

A MERCIFUL FATHER

In the midst of problems
You brought solutions
In the midst of sadness
You brought happiness
In the midst of sorrow
You brought joy
In the midst of hatred
You showed love
In time of discomfort
You sent a comforter
In time of poverty
You brought wealth
In time sickness
You brought healing
In time of bondage
You brought deliverance
In time of death
You brought life
In time of failure
You showed the way to success
When I was mourning
You made me dance with joy
When I was naked
You clothed me
When I was hungry
You set a table before me
When I was thirsty
You gave me the water of life
When I was blind
You opened my eyes
And now I can see
What a merciful father you are!

MOTHER

From the day I was formed
You have cared for me
You did not abort me

When I was born
You cared for me
You did not abandon me

From the day I started crawling
To the time I started walking
You have cared for me with all
The care a mother could
Care for her son

Mother!
Words cannot describe
The way you cared for me
Oh mother!
Thank you for your care

LONELY

Lonely I came
Lonely I am
Wandering in the wilderness alone
Searching for a partner
But can find none

No mother! No father! No brother!
No friend! No comforter! No helper!
Is there a future
For the lonely

Grief and sorrow!
Have dressed me in
Their tattered and wretched garments
When I look up
The sun spits on me
The skies frown at me
And the moon laughs at me

Trees shed off their leaves
So that I have no shade
The earth dries up
For fear that I will
Drink from its water bodies

Is there anyone
Who cares for the lonely?
For how shall the lonely
Have a partner!
