REFLECTIONS

AFRICA

The continent with richest resources but has the poorest people

The continent with many resources for development yet untapped

The continent with the most hardworking people but they do not enjoy the fruit of their labor

The continent with great rivers but does not drink potable water

The continent with vast land but undeveloped and uncultivated

The continent with many challenges but little solutions to them

The continent with stars that do not shine

The continent with people who can only talk but do little

The continent with leaders who only make promises but little to honor them

The continent that does pride itself in its own but boasts of how she has used others own to enrich herself

The continent that does not honor its heroes!

Oh Africa!

LET’S GO TO THE OTHER SIDE.

Let’s go to the other side, he said

What is on the other side, I asked

Why do we have to go to the other side.

How do we get to the other side

Is there something on the other side we don’t have here

Are there people on the other side we have not met here

Are there opportunities on the other side we don’t have here

Is there a better life on the other side we don’t live here

BUT!

Why do we have to go to the other side!

Others matter

How well do you look back

When you are moving forward

How well do you look down

When you are climbing up

How well do you listen to others

When you are talking

How well do you stop to think about others

When you are the centre of attraction

Do well to stop for a moment

To look back at those behind you

Do well to stop for a moment

To look down at those looking up to you

Stop for a moment and listen to others

For they have a contribution to make

It’s not all about you

LIFE

As tempestuous as the roaring waves

Yes, this is how life treats its slaves

Full of agony and pain, you shall weep

And predicament you shall reap

Susceptibility must be discarded

Resistance must be employed

Your forts must be battlemented

To ensure you win the war against life

When all avenues have been exhausted

When all opportunities have been wasted

Don’t, never throw in the towel

Pick up the fallen mortar with your trowel

To win this war, you must be sagacious

To outwit and subdue life you must be judicious

Make haste! But make sure your dealings are not injurious

Be steadfast, prudent and resolute to win the war against life
